The Biscuit Factory Map

On Stoddart Street in Newcastle’s Ouseburn neighbourhood, The Biscuit Factory occupies a converted Victorian industrial building. The two-storey gallery spans what was once a working biscuit factory, now repurposed as a contemporary arts space. Free admission welcomes visitors Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 17:00, Saturday 10:00 to 18:00, and Sunday 11:00 to 17:00. The venue showcases work by northern artists across painting, sculpture, printmaking and craft.

The Ouseburn district has transformed from a manufacturing quarter into a creative hub, with independent studios, cafes and independent businesses clustering around the riverside. Stoddart Street itself reflects this shift, with The Biscuit Factory serving as an anchor for the area’s artistic community. The building’s industrial heritage remains visible in its structure and materials, grounding the gallery in the neighbourhood’s working-class past.
